For almost a month, I've been ignoring these issues but till 24 March a Saturday when I was watching Urban's Double Trouble with DJ Crim when I heard one of the fans saying Cindy Sanyu is Outdated compared to Sheebah . But does it mean Sheebah is taking the lead ? I won't say am neutral as many said in favour of their jobs.
Dating back to Cindy's time, who doesn't remember this hot diva in Ayokya yokya club banger, a lyrical mind set ? Before we judge, let's talk about this confusion moving around here mbu Sheehan has more hit songs than Cindy. What are hit songs by the way ? If you don't know then let's try to find out.
Hits can be categorised into two i.e short term hits and long term hits (sometimes called Anthems). A good external example I can give for concrete explanation is: Look at Fik Fameika's songs and Bennie Gunter's. I know they don't fall under the same genre but since all are played as club bangers, then it makes no sense sticking on their genre-differences.

Beenie Gunter |

Fik Fameika |
Here we are, download Fik's Pistol and Gunter's Tubayo, then try to play them and compare the two, judging of the two which one is a short term hit and which one is a long term hit. After several plays, you'll find out that Fik's Pistol is liked first but fades in no time compared to Gunter's Tubayo which is liked secondly but succeeds continuous plays making it a long term hit because of it's meaning and relevancy to the society, a character that Fik's Pistol lacks. Also the source matters, Fik's art in pistol is innovation and Gunter's art in Tubayo is creativity despite the fact that they all used other people's beats; Fik using Lethal's and Gunter using Moskato ridim.

The King Herself Cindy Sanyu |

Queen Karma Sheebah Karungi |
Back to our Sheebah and Cindy, when they talked of these two's battle, for Cindy the first song I recalled was Ayokya yokya, not because she has no latest but because I recall all her hits right from the bottom and all I can say is most of her hits are long term hits compared to Sheebah's Wankona, a latest because it's the best I can recall now and this means her earliest hits no longer hit because they were short term hits. And by the way, when I tried to list up some of Sheebah's songs, I realized later "ice cream" existed.
NB: THIS IS MY TASTE NOT EVERYONE'S
Mmmm for real
